Your Tour Leader

Your tour will be led by Stephen who will joining you on the tour. He will be with you every step of the way on the tour and will experience everything with you. With heaps of experience with tourism Stephen will be a great hand on the tour. He is an adventurous member of the team and will help with making the tour one not to forget.

Day 1: Arrive at Hobart – 23rd of April 2020

Today is the first day of your magnificent 9 days around Tasmania. Personalised pick up from your doorstep to start off the day. You and your other adventures will all travel to Brisbane together to the airport. When your flight arrives in Hobart there will be a bus waiting for your arrival. This will take you to your first accommodation.

Dinner will be served at the hotel, so make yourself comfortable and settled in.

Day 2: Hobart – Strahan – 24th of April 2020

Starting off with a buffet breakfast at the hotel and then boarding the bus. The first day of our real adventure, this will lead us from Hobart to Strahan. The bus will take you through the wilderness passing by beautiful lakes and mountains, stopping at Lake St Clair the deepest lake in Australia. The halfway point between Hobart and Strahan is Derwent Bridge, here you will visit The Wall in the Wilderness, a handmade wood carved sculpture telling a story from this area. Your tour guide will tell you all the stories behind the wall and educate you on the area, you won’t only have a good time you will also learn new things. After this you will head to your next hotel in Strahan Village.

Day 3: A Day at Strahan – 25th of April 2020

Buffet breakfast at your hotel to start the day off, today you will enjoy a full day steam train journey, you will travel the length of the West Coast Wilderness Railway (Queenstown Explorer). Stopping at every station along the line and hearing about the many stories that have shaped the way the station is today. Lunch will be included on the train and there will be a straight bus back to the hotel for you to go and get your own dinner.

Day 4: Strahan – Cradle Mountain – 26th April 2020

Buffet breakfast at your hotel, indulge in all kinds of breakfast foods before you spend another day of adventuring. Today you will depart Strahan and head towards Cradle Mountains. Cradle Mountains are a must visit in Tasmania being one of the biggest attractions in Tasmania. There will be an explorer waiting for your arrival to guide you around Dove Lake where you can view the Cradle Mountains in all its glory. There is also the opportunity to explore the whole National Park itself, you can hike the Overland Trail or just have a nice walk in the park and really take time to relax. Once spending a few hours at the national park, you will head back to your new hotel, having dinner there and settling down for the night.

Day 5: Cradle Mountain – Launceston – 27th of April 2020

Breakfast at your hotel to start the next adventure off, departing cradle mountain to travel through the smaller more quiet and historical side of Tasmania hidden away from the bugger attractions. Arriving into Launceston before lunch. Lunch today will be at Josef Chromy, a state-of-the-art winery at the base of the vineyard at Relbia, just south of Launceston. Josef Chromy is a 61-yard vineyard that has been around since 2007 and has won 14 trophies and 170 medals from its great wines. The afternoon is yours! To adventure around Launceston and do as you please, visit the City Park, spend some time browsing the stores or visit the Art Gallery and Museum. There is a list of restaurants that vary throughout Launceston there are many different cuisines catering for everyone.

Day 6: Launceston – Bicheno – 28th of April 2020

Today you will enjoy the drive from Launceston to the East Coast, passing through central towns before crossing over to the stunning white sandy beaches. Spend the afternoon at your own leisure. You can look around Bicheno or spend the afternoon visiting the well-known Blowhole or take in the stunning views of the coast waters. There are many of bush walks that can be taken to reach quiet little secluded beaches. If you’re feeling adventurous take the Wineglass Bay Walk to the Wineglass bay lookout this gorgeous little beach is known to be one of the best beaches in the world. Day 7: Bicheno – Hobart – 29th of April 2020

Heading back to Hobart your bus driver will make the most out of the scenery by taking the scenic route via the towns of Swansea and Coles bay and into Freycinet National park where you will see the Picturesque Hazards (home of Wineglass Bay) and enjoy a short walk to cape Tourville lighthouse. After this you will continue to travel to Hobart. Staying once again at the Best Western.

Day 8: Port Arthur Day Tour – 30th of April

After a trip to the breakfast buffet, depart Hobart and make your way to Port Arthur. The Tasman Peninsula is one of Tasmania’s most visited destinations, explore the Peninsular where you will visit Port Arthur and hear the stories of Tasmania’s famous UNESCO world heritage listed convict settlement. Feel the sense of isolation experienced by the convicts and discover the history of the early Australian Penal System. Take a stop at the historic village of Richmond, take a stroll past the Georgian Architecture, dating back to 1820’s now housing galleries, tea shops and craft boutiques. After this head back to Hobart for your last night in Tasmania.

Day 9: Hobart – 1st of May

One last breakfast buffet before you head home. Say goodbye to the spectacular sunsets and the beautiful wilderness of Tasmania, today you head home and leave the beautiful state of Tasmania. A bus will take you to Hobart Airport for your flight to Brisbane than transfer from the airport back to Gympie.
