THE TASTING TRAIN

We travel via the small country villages of Pomona and Cooran as we make our way to Gympie for a short town tour, arriving at the historic Gympie Station which has been beautifully restored to its former glory.

You then hop on board the vintage Railmotor RM76 Train which traditionally ran the Brooloo line to Gympie providing a daily link to the town for shopping, transporting of goods and a means for children to get to school.

Sit back and relax as you begin your nostalgic rail journey through the picturesque Mary Valley Region in Queensland.

Enjoy a tasting plate on board featuring local fare and learn about the food bowl of the Mary Valley Region on board as you cross the Mary River travelling through the gentle rolling hills, around an abundance of curves, over bridges and through the small township of Dagun.

Amamoor is a delightful historic town bordered by a verdant forest reserve, home to more than 120 species of birds. Here you can watch the fascinating process of the turning of the train engine on the turntable.
